Biscuits, Treats & Rawhides

The great thing about treats is that they're so much more than just food to our pets. When we give them a nibble of turkey or one of the dog biscuits we keep in the bone-shaped jar on the counter, we're bonding with them. As far as your dog is concerned, a treat isn't about the amount of food you give him, it's the process. Sure, if you give your dog an entire turkey breast, he'll gulp it down. But if you tear off a small morsel, he'll be just as thrilled.

What he's relishing is the action of you actually giving him the treat. That says to him, "I love you too! You're such a good boy!" And you don't need a whole turkey to say that. In fact, the smaller portion size you give your animal, the more they're going to look forward to the next piece.
