Fun And Games With Cats

Cats may try to put on a sophisticated front, but behind the mask, every cat is just a kitten at heart. Here are a few ideas for your cat’s playtime:
• Ball: Just like children, cats love to play ball. A ball of yarn, a crumbled of piece of paper, or a vinyl ball made especially for cats will provide hours of entertainment. Interact with the cat by tossing the ball in its direction and allowing it to bat it around with its paws, and roll it around the room.
• Mouse: Battery-operated, remote-control mice give cats the illusion they are running after the real thing. You control the toy, your cats get to chase and pounce.
• Hide and seek: Perfect for the cat with an allusive nature. Set out a colorful, expandable tunnel (available at pet stores), or make your own out of paper bags, cardboard or fabric. Encourage the cat to run through by teasing it with a toy mouse or bird at one end (which will mysteriously disappear, then show up at the other end of the tunnel).
• Laser tag: Get a laser pointer, or a laser toy made especially for cats. They love to chase around the red light, in hopes of finding (and pouncing on) the source.
