Question 14
What should I do if my pet gets into household chemicals,
cleaning products or medication?
If you even suspect a pet has ingested something harmful, take the item away and get to the vet immediately. On the way out the door, be sure to grab the suspicious container - it can help in diagnosis and treatment. Also, as a precaution, keep emergency numbers, including that of the pet's regular vet, a back-up in case the regular vet in unavailable, and a local pet emergency hospital in an easy-to-see location, such as the refrigerator.
